Celestine, a member of the sulfate family, is renowned for its ethereal blue hues and delicate beauty, earning it the nickname “Stone of Angels.” Its name derives from the Latin “caelestis,” meaning “celestial,” reflecting its heavenly appearance. Discovered in 1797 by Martin Heinrich Klaproth in Madagascar, the stone’s name was later formalized by Abraham Gottlob Werner.

This mineral, primarily composed of strontium sulfate (SrSO4), typically forms in volcanic, evaporite, or sedimentary rocks.
